Production flow

The cardboard produced at the factory is a recycled product for which the raw material is different kinds of used paper, mainly from local, public offices. Various types of old cardboard as well as advertising matter are also used.

When producing ordinary, grey cardboard, only recycled paper and water is used. For other types of stronger cardboard, glue and alum is added. Coloured cardboard is also produced, and for this purpose obviously dye and possibly varnish is added.

The production flow starts with fetching the paper from the paper barn in a wheelbarrow and bringing it to the edge mill. It is then put into the ‘Hollander’ and afterwards pumped through to the cardboard machine. Having obtained the right thickness here, the cardboard is cut and pressed in the cardboard press. The cardboard is then dried in the dryer. When the cardboard is dry, it has to be glazed in order to remove the rough and uneven surface. This is achieved by passing the cardboard through steam heated rollers and pressing it until it has obtained the correct thickness.
The finished cardboard is cut out and is now ready to be sent to the customer.
